What it is
Form 790 code 012 is the fee the police charge for issuing immigration documents: the card, certificates, the return authorisation. People call it the “fingerprint fee” because you pay it before that appointment, but it pays for the document.
Code 790 052 is something else: the fee for residence and work permits. Paying the wrong one makes the payment invalid.
How much
Amounts from the annex to Orden PJC/617/2025: first temporary-residence TIE 16,08 €; renewals 19,30 €; long-term residence 21,87 €; card for a family member of an EU citizen 12,00 €; NIE number 9,84 €.
They can change with the annual budget law: generate the form just before paying and use its amount.
Filling it in
It is generated on the Policía Nacional website. Enter your details exactly as on your passport and tick the box for your procedure: it must match what you tick on form EX-17.
Paying
At any partner bank with the printed form, which they stamp, or online, which gives you a receipt with an NRC code. Bring the stamped form or the NRC to the appointment: without one of them you won’t be seen.
